Phyllis like so many other women have meant a great deal to us over the years, and especially our Grandmothers. Martha McManus Messer, loved and nurtured me in my early years after my Biological dad was killed in Manilla Philippines 1-8-45. Martha was an Alabama Country woman and much more. I was always amazed at her ability to put food on the long wooden kitchen table, with such ease and with no complaint. One short memory was the time I asked her late in the afternoon what we would be having for supper. Her simple reply was that she did not know, since grandfather, Ozmond had not come in from hunting. That day we ate rabbit. Ozmond was a conservationist, and careful to leave SEED for future meals for the family. Forest 1R
