Poignant story with lovely flavor of times gone by. I remember those chairs like you picture. My grandparents had those in the normal height as well as the short sawed off leg ones. When we are about 4 to 10 yrs. or so they are just right for us. I thought my Papa made them that way just for us kids, until I grew up and found the leg had broken. When we are those ages we think the world is made just for us anyway. I love the way your stories open the memories of my mind to things not thought about for often a long time. Thank you!
