Beverly Hammonds, Whitley

Your mother must have been Alice Heard. If so this was my fifth grade teacher. She was one of my favorite! One of the sweetest and kindest people anyone could ever want to meet. I do remember one thing that will always stay with me when I think of the fifth grade---She talked a lot about going to Indian Reservations-and knew a lot about the history of Indians. Throughout my life (living in the Oxford area) I always got to hear about Mrs. Heard quite often and of course they were always good things. Also my sister (Theresa Haynes) was a close friend of Alice. Anyway I'll close, but wanted to let you know that if your mother is Alice you couldn't ask for a more sweeter or kind hearted lady. What a small world that Beverly know Mrs. Heard. and what a touching story.
